Justin Jefferson and the Minnesota Vikings won a hard-fought game over the Jets on Sunday, but the beef between the star wide receiver and New York’s secondary carried over to Twitter after the game.

Jefferson caught seven passes for 45 receiving yards and a touchdown on Sunday, but Jets cornerback DJ Reed wasn’t too impressed with the former LSU star. During his post-game interview, the defensive back gave the former first round pick credit for at least run route, but he didn’t think Jefferson was anything special.

“I was in his s— all game,” stated Reed, via Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic. “He got that one route on me.”

After the statement started to make it’s rounds on Twitter, Jefferson couldn’t let the comment go unanswered, quote-tweeting the video with a couple of laughing-face emojis.

“In what shit (laughing face emojis),” tweeted Jefferson. “You can’t talk having safety help…call me when yo coach trust you to go 1v1.”

Nevertheless, while Reed was satisfied with the way the Jets kept Jefferson at bay, he wasn’t happy with the loss, as he took to Twitter to let the fans in New York know his disappointment.

“That’s on me,” tweeted Reed. “I’ll be better.”

Regardless of some after the game beef, the showdown between the Vikings and Jets more than delivers. The drama was higher than anyone thought it would be entering the season between these two squads, and the game came down to the final moments.

While the Vikings offense didn’t have their best day against the Jets stout defense, the Minnesota defense kept the Jets offense at bay just enough throughout the day. The biggest series in the game came late in the fourth quarter, when the Vikings were able to come through on a goal-line stand that kept the lead in their favor.

Still, both the Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets look to be on their way to the playoffs, but a rematch? Stranger things have happened. We won’t count either of them out when the time comes.
