Justin Jefferson clearly still looks back on his days at LSU fondly. Now a star for the Minnesota Vikings, Jefferson was able to meet up with some of his former teammates from the 2019 national championship when playing the Cincinnati Bengals, Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase.

Going into the game, Jefferson shared his love for the pair, by wearing a “Bayou Trio” shirt to the game. On it, both Burrow and Chase were featured alongside Jefferson from their days at LSU.

Look at the “Bayou Trio” shirt that Justin Jefferson wore to the game, here:

That 2019 LSU team featured one of college football’s great offenses. A huge part of that was thanks to the trio of Burrow, Jefferson, and Chase. The Tigers ended that season first in both total offense and scoring offense. LSU averaged 568.4 yards per game and 48.4 points per game.

That led to Joe Burrow being the first overall pick in the next NFL Draft. Justin Jefferson ended up going later in the first round to Minnesota. The next season was Ja’Marr Chase’s turn to be drafted in the first round, going to the Bengals to reunite with Burrow.

All three have quickly become superstars in the NFL. Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase have taken the Bengals to a Super Bowl while Burrow has been a Pro Bowler and won the Comeback Player of the Year Award. Unfortunately, he’s also suffered his second season-ending injury this season. Chase, who was the Rookie of the Year, is a two-time Pro Bowler who was injured against Minnesota. Not immune from the injury bug, Jefferson has battled injuries this season, just a year after being the Offensive Player of the Year.

Regardless of what has happened since getting to the NFL, it’s clear that Justin Jefferson still remembers their LSU days together.

NFL makes final ruling on Bengals, Joe Burrow injury controversy

There was some controversy around Joe Burrow and the Bengals as it related to the superstar quarterback’s wrist injury. In particular, many people felt that the team tried to hide the injury, which would be a violation of team rules.

However, the NFL has found that this wasn’t the case. Because of that, the league won’t do anything. Joe Burrow is out for the rest of the season, with Jake Browning taking his place on the field.

He suffered the injury against the Baltimore Ravens. He left the game with it. However, the controversy specifically referred to Cincinnati not initially listing him as injured. In the end, it came down to Burrow’s medical records, which the NFL reviewed, showing he did not seek treatment when he was not listed on the report. This cleared the Bengals.
