With a “Thank You” to the crowd at Bristol for all that they have done for him in his career, Kevin Harvick gave the command to start the Food City 300. His daughter Piper was right there to join him on the command for the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

With three Cup Series wins and a whole lot more memories on the half-mile track at Bristol, Kevin Harvick was given a nice honor before the Xfinity race. Of course, Harvick knew just what to do. After years of hearing commands, good and bad, he delivered a classic.

Piper by his side, Harvick said his piece and then let it rip. Check it out.

Kevin Harvick has a long and storied career just about everywhere. When you have been in the sport as long as he has, then you tend to make memorable moments. With how talented Harvick is and his success over the years, it makes sense that he would have so many final goodbyes to make.

In his final weekend at Bristol as a driver, Harvick gave a command that will be remembered for quite a while. To get to do it with his daughter had to have made the moment even cooler for the driver. What a command. What a driver.

The Closer is putting a close on this chapter of his career.

Kevin Harvick hopes to leave Bristol on a high note

In his final weekend at Bristol as a driver, Kevin Harvick is going to try and go out on a high note. He didn’t qualify as well as he likely hoped to, but Bristol is a track that can come to you.

As the night falls on the track on Saturday night, we might see some slower cars from qualifying find their rhythm and speed. The race is going to test these drivers, 500 laps is no joke on this high-banked track. Harvick has plenty of experience, though.

Harvick starts P21 on Saturday night. The race was pushed up an hour to 6:30 p.m. just to make sure the weather doesn’t mess anything up. The Fords were not nearly as fast as they had been at this track over the last few years.

I’m not sure if we will see the Ford group build up any kind of speed. Chase Briscoe was the top Stewart-Haas Racing driver and he qualified P14. Meanwhile, Michael McDowell with Front Row Motorsports qualified P4 as the top blue oval.

Christopher Bell and Denny Hamlin are leading the field to green on Saturday. What tricks will Kevin Harvick and crew chief Rodney Childers have up their sleeves in order to advance to the Round of 12?
