The LA Rams and LB Bobby Wagner agreed to part ways on Thursday evening, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported. The eight-time Pro Bowler and the Rams mutually agreed to part ways. Los Angeles made the move to save more cap space and Wagner would like to go to a team where he can win. He’ll be a player to keep your eyes on in free agency, as the future Hall-of-Famer is one of the most productive players at his position in league history.

Could Wagner land with the Dallas Cowboys?

One team to watch in pursuit of Wagner’s services are the Dallas Cowboys. According to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys had interest in Wagner last year when he was a free agent. Dallas defensive coordinator Dan Quinn had spoken with him directly about a potential reunion from their time with the Seattle Seahawks. Wagner is an option at the linebacker position, where the Cowboys will have three impending free agents (Leighton Vander Esch, Anthony Barr, and Luke Gifford).

Once it comes time to hang up his cleats in the National Football League, there’s no question that Bobby Wagner will likely end up in the Hall of Fame. He was a dominant force in the Seattle Seahawks’ defense during his time there. The Seahawks’ defense established itself as one of the best in league history, and there’s no question the former Utah State star was a huge part of that. He led Seattle to a dominant Super Bowl victory against the Denver Broncos, as the Seahawks routed them 43-8 in 2014.

Wagner led the league in tackles in 2016 (167 tackles) and 2019 (159 tackles). Thus far during his prolific career, he’s racked up 1,523 tackles, 29.5 sacks, 65 pass deflections, 13 interceptions, while scoring four defensive touchdowns. For his remarkable production, Wagner was named to the NFL All-Decade Team for the 2010s. A model of incredible consistency, he’s racked up over 100 tackles during every season of his 11-year career in the National Football League, including last season with the LA Rams.
