The Cowboys-Lions game Saturday night features two of the best quarterbacks in the league facing off against each other. And yes, Detroit coach Dan Campbell is well aware of what Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott can do to his team.

As the Cowboys defense concerns itself with Jared Goff, the Lions D needs to concentrate on Prescott, the quarterback who has thrown the most touchdowns in the NFL this season. With 30, he’s one ahead of San Francisco’s Brock Purdy and three ahead of Buffalo’s Josh Allen, Goff and Green Bay’s Jordan Love. Campbell calls Prescott a “complete quarterback.”

“There’s a number of things he does well,” the Lions coach said of Prescott at his weekly press conference. “He’s a complete quarterback. He does everything well. … It’s hard to disguise against him, he can see it, he can see it early. (Prescott) can adjust to protections. He knows where to go with the football. “

And Campbell continued with his Prescott laudatory scouting report.

“He’s very calm and composed with pressure on him,” the Lions coach said. “And he he’s got that escape-ability. He can escape in the pocket to make a throw. But he can also use his legs to get downfield. And not only that. every once in a while, they’ll throw out one of these read-run RPOs where he takes off and he can kill you.

“Look, he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the league,” Campbell said. “And he’s playing at a high level and we know that. We’ve got to do our best to try and to make it, as much as we can make them one dimensional, we have to do that.”

Lions want to extend Cowboys losing streak to three straight

But Prescott can be successfully defended. After all, the Cowboys have lost two straight games. They’re hosting the Lions Saturday night at very comfortable AT&T Stadium. All teams play best at home. But the Cowboys must draw super powers from the stadium water. After all, they’ve won 15 straight at home. That’s the longest victory string for Dallas in 42 years.

The Lions have clinched the NFC North division as they set their sights on the No. 2 seed in the NFC. And the Cowboys are vying or the East title, although the Eagles have the upper hand in the division.

Chances are, Saturday’s game will be quarterback centric with two players from the NFL draft class of 2016. Goff, the No. 1 pick of that draft, ranks third in the NFL in passing yards with 3,984 yards. Plus, he’s third in touchdowns. Three more TD passes and Goff will get to 30 or the second straight season.

Prescott has thrown for 3,892 yards, which ranks fifth in the NFL. He’s not doing too badly for the 135th pick of the 2016 draft.
