The Atlanta Falcons are adding some depth at the wide receiver position. According to a report from NFL Network‘s Ian Rapoport, the team has made a trade for Los Angeles Rams receiver Van Jefferson.

Per the report, the Falcons will send a sixth- and seventh-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft in exchange for Jefferson.

So far this season, Jefferson has totaled eight catches for 108 yards through five games. The Falcons hope to get production similar to what the wide receiver gave the Rams in 2021.

That year, Jefferson ended the season with 802 yards and six touchdowns on 50 catches. Last year, his numbers dropped drastically, concluding the season with 44 receptions for 369 yards and three touchdowns.

Jefferson is in his fourth season in the NFL. Until this week’s trade, he spent all that time in Los Angeles. During his career, the receiver has hauled in 179 catches for 1,499 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Atlanta (3-2) hosts the Washington Commanders (2-3) on Sunday. The Rams host the Arizona Cardinals (1-4).

FOX broadcast cuts out during pivotal Falcons-Texans moment

Falcons and Texans fans tuned into Sunday’s game on FOX might have some beef with the network. Coverage of the Week 5 game blacked out momentarily during Younghoe Koo‘s game-winning field goal for Atlanta.

Houston owned a 19-18 lead with just two seconds remaining in the contest. Atlanta sent Koo onto the field for a 37-yard attempt to win the game. Shortly after the boot, FOX’s broadcast briefly went dark.

We’re guessing a lot of panic and anger set in momentarily when the screen went blank among NFL fans. Fortunately, the broadcast only went out momentarily, and fans did see Koo’s kick travel through the uprights.

Well, maybe Texans fans weren’t thrilled to witness that, but Falcons fans enjoyed it:

Isn’t that everyone’s worst nightmare? Your team taking part in an exciting game that comes down to the wire, only to have the TV go dark. It’s not really clear what happened, but hopefully FOX gets that cleared up before next week’s games.

Thanks to Koo’s field goal, the Falcons recorded a 21-19 victory to improve to 3-2 on the season. The kicker made both of his attempts and also drilled an extra point in the win.

Atlanta sits just a half-game back of the NFC South standings, with Tampa Bay leading the division at 3-1.
