Former Stanford Cardinal star forward Cameron Brink has been selected by the Los Angeles Sparks with the No. 2 overall pick in the first round of the 2024 WNBA Draft.

Throughout her collegiate career, Brink has been a force on the inside for the Cardinal. She finished this past season averaging a double-double, with 17.4 points and 11.9 rebounds per contest.

Her presence in the paint terrified opposing players, as she finished the year with 3.7 blocks a game. Brink’s 3.7 blocks per game were tops in women’s college basketball this season, and her total of 127 on the season helped her capture Naismith Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Continuing, it wasn’t just awards that helped Brink become viewed as one of the best players in women’s college basketball this past season. She has several accomplishments to her name that also demonstrate her dominance at the collegiate level, and simply watching her is something to behold.

This past season was a historic year for Brink, who has the numbers to prove it. But not only that, those stats have put her in rarefied air as she joined Brittney Griner and Courtney Paris as the only players with a total of 1800 points, 1200 rebounds, 200 assists, and 400 blocks for their career in the past 25 seasons.

Moreover, Brink has consistently improved season after season since her freshman year back in 2020-21. In her first season at Stanford, she played in 32 games, recording twenty starts and an average of 18.3 minutes per contest. She finished that season averaging 9.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per contest. But this past season, her senior season, Brink has performed head and shoulders better than in any other year.

Brink’s personal life tab on her On3 Elite profile explains why she’s destined for success both on and off the court, “Cameron Brink’s success is long on and off the court. On the court, she’s a three-time Pac-12 champion at Stanford, a two-time All-American and an NCAA champion (2021). During the 2022-2023 season, Brink averaged 14.9 points, 9.5 rebounds and she had 111 blocks. She led the Cardinal to a 28-5 regular-season record and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. She was an Associated Press third-team All-America selection in the 2021-2022 season. She was also a Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Finalist in 2021-2022 after averaging 13.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 1.2 assists per game.

“In 2021, she made the NCAA Tournament Alamo Region All-Tournament Team and played a key role in the Cardinal winning the national title. Brink has also been a force off the court through social media. She has a massive Instagram following. Brink has also struck major NIL deals with Buick, Urban Outfitters, GOAT, Hearth, Next 22, Hyperice, Visible Mobile and others.”

Moving forward, Cameron Brink will look for continued success in her next venture, as she enters the WNBA. There’s no reason to expect anything different from the former Stanford star at the next level.
