During any major sporting event, the stories typically surround the athletes and the action going on at the said event. However, every now and then, a fan is able to capture a moment of attention, whether for the right or wrong reasons. And that is just what happened Thursday morning at the PGA Tour event, the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

As they began to set up the event and fans started to arrive, one fan was spotted walking in the path sporting an all-white wedding dress. As he headed to his destination, the commentators calling the event caught wind of his ensemble for the Waste Management Phoenix Open, and the conversation that transpired between the two was hilariously on par for the event. You can check out the fan and his attire, along with the banter between the two commenters in the video.

Thursday is the opening day for the Waste Management Phoenix Open, and it has been filled with plenty of entertainment thus far. They are a handful of players that have already begun to tee off, with Australia’s Aaron Baddeley owning an early lead with a -2 through his first two holes.

A wild weekend finishes with Nick Taylor winning the Waste Management Phoenix Open

The first round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open saw Canadian Nick Taylor exit the day with a five-shot lead. Taylor shot an impressive 60 on the opening day to finish Thursday at -11. To round out the top five was a four-way tie for second place between four American golfers: Andrew Novak, Doug Ghim, Maverick McNealy, and Sathith Theegala. All finished the opening round at -6, scoring a 65 for the day.

As the event continued throughout the weekend, there were more storylines surrounding the raucous and rowdy crowd in attendance than there were of the players on the course. At one point, the course officials shut down the gates because the event was ‘too crowded’ and also limited the sale of alcohol for a brief period of time in several areas on the course.

“Due to larger than usual crowds, the WM Phoenix Open entrance gates are temporarily closed, and shuttle service to the event is on hold. Shuttle service back to [the] parking lots will remain running. Regularly check our channels for updates,” said the tournament officials via X.

By the end of the event, Taylor was able to hang on to his round one lead, finishing the waste management Phoenix Open with a -21. However, the Canadian had to secure his victory in a playoff with American Charlie Hoffman. Hoffman also finished the event at -21 after starting the opening day seven shots behind Taylor.

For the victory, Taylor was awarded a purse of $1,584,000 and also earned 500 FedEx points for the FedEx Cup playoff, the championship tournament for the PGA.
