On Sunday, a bench-clearing fight broke out between the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The main instigators of the fight, Bucs wideout Mike Evans and Saints DB Marshon Lattimore were ejected.

Sunday’s scuffle was not the first between Evans and Lattimore. The two first tussled in 2017 before repeat performances in 2020 and 2021.

The fight broke out after a frustrated Tom Brady turned back to the field in response to chatter from the Saints corner. Running back Leonard Fournette got involved in the back-and-fourth with Brady before Mike Evans rushed in to knock Lattimore to the ground.

The Bucs and the Saints were locked in a 3-3 battle in the fourth quarter at the time of the fight. After the ejection, however, Tom Brady showed he could go win the game without Evans. Brady completed a touchdown pass to Breshard Perriman to make it a 7-point game with 7:40 to play.

New Orleans hasn’t scored since knocking through a field goal in the first quarter. Tampa Bay tied things up with a field goal of their own in the third quarter.

Prior to the ejection, the former Texas A&M standout had three catches for 61 yards. So far this season, he has eight catches for 132 yards and one touchdown.

If the score stands, the Buccaneers will move to 2-0 on the season while the Saints go to 1-1 on the year. In Week 1, Brady and the Bucs took down the Dallas Cowboys while the Saints beat Atlanta by one point.
