While on his way to Daytona International Speedway, Chris Hacker, part-time Xfinity and Truck Series driver, was in a serious car accident. Hacker has participated in NASCAR for a number of years.

Chris Hacker, according to a statement released on his Twitter/X profile, was on his way to Daytona on Wednesday afternoon this week. That is when a semi-truck went over the center line and collided with Chris’s Ford Mustang “head on.”

“Chris was transported to Prisma Health Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina where he underwent emergency surgery,” the family statement read. “Although a CT scan showed numerous injuries, he’s now in stable condition and is expected to have a full recovery.

“Chris is in good spirits and his family has flown to South Carolina to be with him.”

In 2023, Chris Hacker raced in multiple NASCAR events. He had multiple Xfinity Series starts with Emerling-Gase Motorsports. In the Truck Series, he raced with both On Point and Young’s Motorsports.

A scary situation all around. Hopefully, we hear from Chris soon and see him at a race whenever possible. It sounds like this was very severe.

NASCAR fans and others in the sport were sending their best wishes. There is an outpouring of prayers and other kind messages for the NASCAR driver as he begins his recovery.

Chris Hacker has not announced 2024 NASCAR plans

The 24-year-old driver has not made any plans formal for this year in NASCAR. However, Hacker was going to work on the Joey Gase Motorsports team as a mechanic. That would be on the car that Frankie Muniz is driving in the Xfinity Series.

Last year, Chris Hacker received a suspension from NASCAR that lasted two months. Hacker was charged with DWI and had to undergo the Road to Recovery Program before being reinstated.

Before the wreck, Hacker had posted on Twitter/X about being six months sober.

There are drivers and crew members throughout NASCAR like Chris Hacker who just want to have a chance. Let’s hope that we get to see Hacker work on a crew or get behind the wheel of a race car or truck soon.
