The beer flowed like wine after Ben Rhodes won the NASCAR Truck Series championship on Friday night. The driver provided plenty of … interesting answers and responses during his post-race interview.

Rhodes secured the second NASCAR Truck Series title of his career during the Craftsman 150 at Phoenix Raceway. He crossed the finish line ahead of Corey Heim, Carson Hocevar and Grant Enfinger to secure the crown.

After the race, Rhodes attended his press conference a little … inebriated. He provided some wild answers while meeting with reporters. Below is a video from FOX’s Bob Pockrass:

Rhodes provided plenty of interesting comments throughout the presser. Eventually, NASCAR cut off the two-time Truck Series driver because of his state.

Some of the highlights include comments like, “He’s got a beautiful mind. Isn’t that a movie? ‘Beautiful Mind?’ Is it with John Travolta? No? Oh. I never watched it.”

He also proclaimed, “Dinosaurs aren’t real,” “I love some cows,” and said his chain was “like Flava Flav.”

Let’s give Rhodes some leniency here. It’s probably not the look NASCAR wants from its champion, but it’s a long season and the driver just accomplished something only five others have achieved. Who doesn’t want to indulge in an adult beverage (or a few) after securing a title?

Rhodes ended the 2023 NASCAR Truck Series season with 14 top-10 finishes in 23 races. He also had seven finishes in the top-five and claimed one checkered flag. The driver only had one DNF all season.

Ben Rhodes comments on winning NASCAR Truck Series title

Before the fireworks in the post-race presser, Rhodes provided his immediate thoughts on winning another Truck Series title. To say he was excited would be a huge understatement.

“I can’t even believe it. Let’s go!” Rhodes said, per NASCAR.com. “I hate when people do that on TV, so I’m sorry. But hey, this is so awesome, man.

“To go 25 laps into overtime, you know what that feels like? Almost lose it three times? Look at the front of the truck. It’s crazy. I didn’t think we were going to make it, I thought we were going to pop a tire. I thought anything that could have gone wrong was going to go wrong.”

Only four other NASCAR Truck Series drivers have won multiple championships: Ron Hornaday Jr. (four), teammate Matt Crafton (three), Jack Sprague (two) and Todd Bodine (two).
