The Verizon 200 at the Brickyard is going to be very interesting. Among the NASCAR field are multiple road course ringers. That includes the return of the Chicago Street Course winner, three-time Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen.

Also among the road course ringers this weekend are Kamui Kobayashi, Jenson Button, Mike Rockenfeller, Brodie Kostecki, and SVG himself. It is a little surprising how much credit some of these drivers are getting from Las Vegas.

While van Gisbergen might be back for the Verizon 200, the Bet MGM bookmakers are sticking with a tried-and-true driver as the favorite. Current NASCAR Cup Series points leader Martin Truex Jr. is the favorite for Indy at 4-1 odds. Truex won at Sonoma and is almost always a solid pick on road courses.

Tyler Reddick is second in the odds at 11-2. He won this race last season and won at COTA. However, pit road mistakes from himself and his crew have doomed him more times than not, including this past week at Michigan.

Following Reddick, Chase Elliott is listed at 15-2 odds. He is the final full-time driver favored ahead of Shane van Gisbergen at 10-1 odds. Elliott could really use a win, but will the ringers make it even more difficult than before?

Kyle Busch is also listed at 10-1 odds heading into the Verizon 200.

Verizon 200 road course ringers will make things interesting

Following SVG in the Bet MGM odds, his Supercars peer Brodie Kostecki is listed at 18-1 odds. This is a very interesting choice for the weekend. He will be in the third RCR car and with his experience in Australia he should be a very competitive car on the day.

It would be so much fun for fans, here and in Australia, to see Brodie and Shane get into a tight battle for position. Perhaps the two Supercars competitors will find themselves battling for the lead at some point in the Verizon 200.

Going down the list, Kamui Kobayashi is listed back at 80-1 odds. Kobayashi is going to drive the third entry for 23XI Racing in the No. 67. This is the first time the car is making an entry since Travis Pastrana drove in the Daytona 500.

It is surprising that Kobayashi is favored over Jenson Button (100-1) who has NASCAR experience. He was also part of the NASCAR Garage 56 team at Le Mans. His Le Mans teammate, Mike Rockenfeller, is driving the No. 42 in the wake of Noah Gragson’s release from LEGACY M.C. and is listed at 300-1 odds.
