The New Orleans Saints have waived wide receiver Bryan Edwards, according to a report from ESPN’s Field Yates.

Edwards signed with the team in March.

He had three catches for 37 yards in the Saints’ first preseason game.

The former South Carolina wideout was drafted with the No. 81 overall pick in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders. He spent his first two years with the team before playing in seven games last year with the Atlanta Falcons. He also spent a few weeks on the practice squad for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Edwards arrived in Atlanta following a trade between the Raiders and Falcons. Atlanta acquired Edwards and a seventh-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft for a fifth-rounder.

His best season came in 2021 with the Raiders, playing in 16 games with 12 starts. Edwards had 34 receptions for 571 yards and three touchdowns.

During his time in Nevada, Edwards played with Saints new starting quarterback Derek Carr.

“I played two seasons with him. I’ve gotten to know him as a person,” Edwards said, via a story on Edwards from Crescent City Sports. “You know what you’ve going to get with Derek. I respect someone who comes to work everyday the way that he does. He has my respect and I trust him as a quarterback. I feel like he trusts me as a receiver to do my job.”

Saints share update on tight end Jimmy Graham

New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen provided a positive update on tight end Jimmy Graham on Sunday before the team’s preseason game versus the Los Angeles Chargers.

Graham was arrested last Friday after he was found wandering in traffic, which the Saints have said was a result of a “likely seizure.”

“You won’t see him tonight out here. He’s still really recovering,” Allen said before the game on Fox 8 NOLA. “He’s still shaken up, but he’s actually in a pretty good spot. We’re thankful that medically it wasn’t more serious than it was. Yeah, I think he’s in a good spot. But we’re going to rest him tonight.”

Graham returned to the Saints this offseason following nearly a decade after his first stint with the team. He was drafted by the team during the 2010 NFL Draft and stayed with New Orleans for five years. He was a two-time All-Pro tight end with the team and three-time Pro Bowler.
