Veteran NFL safety Adrian Amos is on the move deep into this year’s free agency cycle. After spending the last four years playing in the secondary for Green Bay, Amos is now the latest Packer to migrate east to play for the New York Jets, linking back up with Aaron Rodgers and other former Packers, such as Allen Lazard or Randall Cobb.

According to NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler, Amos has inked a one year deal with the Jets. Here was that news, which Fowler broke to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon: “Source: Safety Adrian Amos signing a one-year deal worth up to $4M with the #Jets.”

There you have it. Amos to the Jets to provide yet another familiar face in the locker room for Aaron Rodgers, as well as an experienced and steady performer to add to the safety room and a secondary that was otherwise pretty young — albeit very talented as well. Nice little scoop for NYJ here in the middle of the summer.

Aaron Rodgers says he’s having a blast in NYC

Aaron Rodgers is a new member of the New York Jets after a long-awaited trade this offseason. As he settles in with his new team, he’s made it abundantly clear he’s in a really good spot. In fact, he’s happier than he’s been in quite some time.

“The last six weeks have been about the most fun I’ve had in a while,” Rodgers said, per USA TODAY’s Lorenzo Reyes. “It’s fun to come to work and be excited about what we’re doing.”

He’s even participating in OTAs and says they’ve been a great bonding opportunity with the new team.

“Yeah, I think it was good,” Rodgers said of being at OTAs. “I had originally planned on being back on the West Coast at least a week to be with my body work people and my trainers, but when I hurt my calf, it was best that I was here the entire time rehabbing and just being around the guys.

“It made for a lot of opportunities for some get-togethers in the city — obviously a Taylor Swift concert — team dinners, a lot of hangout time, so that was good. But the on-the-field stuff was really important to work through some of the adjustments and signals, being another voice in the room with Hack in the installs and QB room. It was a lot of fun, actually.”

Sounds like the Jets are finally becoming…fun? Either way, it’ll be a wildly intriguing year of pigskin in the Big Apple.
