Ahead of the 2023 NFL campaign, NFL.com draft analyst Chad Reuter has projected the best and worst case scenarios, along with statistical predictions for some fascinating rookies.

One of those is former Kentucky Wildcats quarterback Will Levis. At the 2023 NFL Draft, Levis was stuck waiting in the green room, hoping for his name to be called on Day 1, but it never came to fruition. Now he’s hoping to prove every team that passed on him in the first wrong, and the Tennessee Titans right for going back up and getting him in the second.

Evidently, Reuter believes Levis will find some success during his rookie season, predicting the former Kentucky quarterback will play in six games, starting two of them. All in all, Reuter is projecting Levis to accumulate 550 passing yards, 4 passing touchdowns and 3 interceptions, while rushing for 150 yards and 3 touchdowns, as well.

It makes sense to be a little hesitant to predict more than that from Levis, as he’s slated to backup veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill in 2023. Still, Reuter believes the best case scenario for Levis would be getting his chance to start later in the season, once he’s received some time to acclimate to the NFL.

“Levis gets an opportunity to start later in the season and makes the most of it,” Reuter wrote, regarding Levis’ best-case scenario. “He makes plays with his strong arm and tough running. Levis takes what the defense gives him and leans on his running backs, Derrick Henry and third-round pick Tyjae Spears.”

Relying on his friends at running back would be a perfect way for Levis to begin his career, especially with Henry in the backfield. As for the worst-case scenario, the Titans giving the keys to second-year quarterback Malik Willis instead of Levis would be all bad for the former Kentucky star.

“The Titans determine Levis is not ready to start and give an opportunity to Malik Willis if Ryan Tannehill misses time again this season or loses his grip on the starting job,” explained Reuter. “Defenses take advantage of Levis trying to squeeze throws into tight windows when his limited chances arise.”

Alas, projections are just that — projections. Will Levis will have the chance to prove everyone who doubted him wrong when he steps on the field for the Tennessee Titans in 2023. Whenever that is, you can be he’ll be ready to roll, and prepared for success.
