Three-time Pro Bowl selection Jadeveon Clowney is still available heading into the second week of the NFL preseason. However, after a visit to the Ravens last week, the former South Carolina star has another promising visit lined up.

NFL insider Adam Schefter shared on Sunday that Clowney is visiting the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars are fresh off of a win against the Cowboys to start their preseason off hot.

Clowney spent the first five seasons of his NFL career with the Houston Texans (2014-18) prior to short stops with the Seattle Seahawks (2019) and Tennessee Titans (2020). In 2021 and 2022, he played for the Cleveland Browns.

Now, heading into his 10th year in the league, the former No. 1 overall draft pick is on the cusp of joining his fifth team.

Like the Ravens, the Jaguars are another team with big playoff potential this season. If he signs with Jacksonville on Sunday, he could be suited up to play for them by next Saturday’s game at Detroit.

On top of hosting Clowney, the Jaguars made a couple of roster moves on Sunday. They signed offensive lineman Bobby Evans, the team announced. Additionally, the team placed tight end Sammis Reyes on the reserve/retired list.

Evans began his NFL career in 2019 after being drafted in the third round out of Oklahoma by the Los Angeles Rams. During his four seasons with the Rams, he played in 35 games with 12 starts. He won his first Super Bowl with the team in his second season.

Clowney searches for new home

Clowney enters this year after playing in 12 games for the Browns last fall. He finished the year with 28 tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery. However, those are far off the best numbers he’s produced.

Just two seasons ago, the defensive end posted some of the best numbers of his career. Clowney racked up nine sacks for Cleveland in 2021, tied for the second-highest total of his time in the NFL. He also ended the year with 37 total stops and two forced fumbles.

If he’s still got something left in the tank, he could be a great veteran addition for a team.

Over the course of his nine-year NFL career, Clowney has accumulated 320 tackles with 43 sacks. He’s also forced 13 fumbles, recovered eight and scored four defensive touchdowns. He was a three-time Pro Bowl selection, making the trip in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
