With NFL star receiver Odell Beckham Jr still being pursued in free agency, the Dallas Cowboys are among the teams interested in signing him. The former LSU star has been seeking a new home and indicated that he wants to be on a Super Bowl contender — which would be a big boost to a Dallas team that has been evaluating options at wide receiver.

Cowboys emerge as front-runner for Odell Beckham Jr.

During Monday’s NFL Live discussion on the receiver, ESPN’s Adam Schefter explained that there are four teams that have been in contact with Beckham, including Dallas. Also on the star free agent’s call list are the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers and his old team, the New York Giants.

Earlier in the season, it was reported that the Kansas City Chiefs had emerged as a possible destination for Beckham — although they are not on the newest short list apparently. With four teams separating themselves from the rest, it seems imminent that Beckham will be on a team soon after recovering from his previous ACL tear in the final game of the year last season.

Former Dallas defensive end couldn’t contain his excitement during the broadcast segment on Monday, jumping at the chance to see another former LSU guy come to Dallas and boost their chances at a championship.

“I’ve literally got like the feels right now,” joked Spears. “Because I’m thinking about — this dude was gonna be the MVP of the Super Bowl last year before he suffered that injury. And if you wanna be explosive and you look over across at the AFC, you may get into a shootout. Odell Beckham Jr. definitely helps you in that regard.

“And by the way, I love him as a person. He’s my bro.”

Spears’ fellow panelist Mina Kimes chimed in on the good mood Spears was in by drawing attention to their LSU connection as well, closing the segment by joking that he was recruiting on the broadcast.

“LSU guy! Are you recruiting?”
