Odell Beckham Jr. is already facing issues in Baltimore. On Thursday, the Ravens placed the wide receiver on their injury report. Beckham was limited due to an ankle injury, per the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Beckham signed with Raven this offseason after missing the 2022 season due to a torn ACL. The deal is reportedly for one season and worth up to $18 million. Of that number, $15 million is wrapped up in the signing bonus and base salary while the remaining $3 million is incentive-based.

The former LSU standout was a key part of the Los Angeles Rams’ playoff run in the 2021 postseason, as he racked up 21 catches for 288 yards and two touchdowns before getting hurt. Prior to that, he posted back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving seasons in 2018 and 2019.

Odell Beckham Jr. felt at home in Baltimore

Beckham’s injury will be jab to the heart of Baltimore fans. The three-time Pro Bowler has been nothing but complimentary of his new home. Beckham recently discussed his decision to join the Ravens on “The Rich Eisen Show.”

“Being on the other side and even take away the NFL, but other business opportunities and you hear the things that they tell you but then you get there and it’s not exactly what [they say] it is,” Beckham said. “It was definitely me winging it on a feeling and I texted [John Harbaugh] the other day and said, ‘You run a world-class operation around here.’

“It’s been very refreshing. It’s been a breath of fresh air for me. It definitely not just going to be all run game. I’ll tell you that much. I won’t give away any game plans, but I’m truly excited, man. I haven’t had this feeling since early in my career with the Giants.”

For those familiar with Beckham’s NFL career, his words are invigorating. Beckham’s first three seasons with the New York Giants were his best. The young star recorded over 1,300 yards all three seasons. He has not repeated the feat since.

Although Beckham obviously wants to have a successful season, he’s simply happy to be somewhere he feels wanted.

“I’m in a different place in my life. I’ve been through so much,” Beckham said. “I’m just very grateful to have another opportunity to play in the NFL.”

The Ravens will kick off their 2023 campaign against the Houston Texans at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
