Controversy overshadowed a thrilling finish in Baltimore on Sunday, with the Colts scoring a 22-19 overtime victory over the Ravens. But a potential missed call is what caught the attention of most people.

Facing a 4th-and-3 in overtime, Baltimore elected to put the ball in the hands of Lamar Jackson in hopes of converting a first down. A pass to Zay Flowers over the middle was available, but Indianapolis’ E.J. Speed was able to break up the pass.

It appeared that Speed might’ve gotten there a little early, though. Here’s the clip of that pivotal no-call in overtime of Sunday’s game.

Because of the incompletion, the Colts took possession at their own 47 yard-line with 3:21 to play. They then picked up 18 yards on five plays and settled for a Matt Gay field goal from 53 yards out to win the game.

It was one of the wilder Week 3 games of the NFL schedule, one with a controversial ending. And folks in Baltimore probably won’t be too pleased with the officiating crew for a few days. We’re guessing Indianapolis doesn’t see any problems with the call, though.

Was this the right call? Or did the officiating crew in Baltimore miss this one?

Colts pick up unexpected win over Ravens

Not many gave Indianapolis much of a chance to go on the road and defeat Baltimore, especially with rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson sidelined after last week’s injury. But the Colts got the job done in overtime.

The Colts didn’t put a ton of points on the scoreboard but Gardner Minshew completed 27-of-44 passes for 227 yards and a touchdown. Running back Zack Moss piled up 122 rushing yards on 30 carries. He also had 23 yards and a touchdown on two receptions.

Gay might have been the hero for Indianapolis on Sunday, connecting on all five field goal tries in the game. He converted on all of his attempts, including a long of 54 yards. He also knocked home his lone PAT try.

Baltimore’s two turnovers in the game — both lost fumbles — proved to be significant in the loss. Well, those and the controversial missed defensive pass interference in overtime.

Both the Colts and Ravens now enter Week 4 of the NFL season with 2-1 records. Indianapolis will host the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, Oct. 1 while the Ravens will travel to play the Cleveland Browns in a divisional game.
