Jordan Love attempted to troll the Chicago Bears with a special message on Father’s Day this year. Instead, he failed miserably, and only made himself and the Green Bay Packers look bad.

The Packers have “owned” the Bears for nearly two decades, posting a 24-5 record when Aaron Rodgers was under center. Although the four-time NFL MVP is out of town now, Love wants to continue the tradition of embarrassing the division rival.

In an attempt to keep the rivalry alive, Love sent a message to the Bears. The problem? It makes no sense … and is actually kind of a self-own.

“Happy Father’s Day to all the Bears fans out there,” Love said, smiling. “Go Pack Go.”

We understand what Love was trying to say in the video, but his messaging implies that the Bears own the Packers. Could this be some sort of nightmarish foreshadowing in Green Bay? Will we be able to timestamp the exact moment when the Bears turned the tide in this rivalry, placing all the blame on the young quarterback’s words?

So many questions.

Look, we absolutely appreciate athletes keeping things interesting on social media. It’s always enjoyable to see guys having fun with their sport and riling up an opposing fanbase.

But the next time Love posts a video, he might want a few of his teammates to look it over, first. This one doesn’t exactly send the message as it was intended.

NFL fans respond to Jordan Love’s Father’s Day message

Although several Packers fans celebrated Love’s attempted troll of the Bears, many other NFL fans caught the quarterback’s mishap. And they let him know about it on social media.

“He may want to win a game first before he starts talking,” one fan wrote on Twitter. “Also did he just call bears fans his father?”

“You do realize you say ‘Happy Father’s Day’ to YOUR father, right? Not the other way around,” another fan said. “Twitter He’s saying happy Father’s Day to HIS father, the Chicago Bears. He’s already accepted his fate.”

Another social media user chimed in, “He just roasted himself? Lol.”

Love has some big shoes to fill, taking over the starting role with Rodgers now playing for the New York Jets. He’s only made life tougher on himself, with the two Bears-Packers games becoming even more important this season.

If the Bears win even one game this season, you can bet Love’s video will resurface in a hurry.
