Packers quarterback Jordan Love talks playing with Aaron Rodgers: 'We have a great relationship'
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love had some great things to say about Aaron Rodgers after playing with him for three years. While appearing on Thanalysis Show, Love was asked about the relationship he has with Rodgers after being his backup QB for the Green Bay Packers.
“We have a great relationship,” Love said. “Obviously, I was in the quarterback room with him. When you’re in that room together you’re there every day for multiple hours a day so you build a relationship with everyone in that room. We have a good relationship, and like you said, the comparisons are always going to happen. The media is going to compare everybody in the league and you want to compare all the situations.
“I don’t focus on that stuff, but me and Aaron got a good relationship.” 2023 was the first year Love was the starting QB for the Packers, and he finished the season with 4,159 yards and 32 touchdowns and a passer rating of 96.1. Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets in April but only played in one game after suffering an Achilles injury during the season opener.
Back in December, Rodgers talked about how he was “not surprised” that Love was playing at a high level. “He’s playing, especially the last three games, outstanding,” Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show. “But he’s in his first year starting. As well as he’s playing, can we not crown him right now? For his own sake. Because we shouldn’t do that to kids. We shouldn’t crown them, and we shouldn’t cancel them. … I love Jordan and I think he’s gonna be a great player in the league for a long time, but can we let him play his career?”
Jordan Love is ready for a Super Bowl run
Love helped the Packers clinch a playoff spot and reached the divisional round of postseason play. While appearing on The Pivot Podcast, Love talked about the Packers chances of winning it all in 2024.
“It’s a great feeling, man,” Love said. “We’re all very hungry for this upcoming year. Like you said, the confidence from top to bottom is there. The organization believes that it’s the perfect time to have a chance to win a Super Bowl this year.
“Those conversations we had after that 49ers game were ‘Work harder, try and find ways to get better, because next year we’re gonna do it,’“ Love continued. “There’s no more ‘we’re a young team,’ there’s no more of those what ifs. People know what we’re about now. Obviously, we’ll have that target on our back now, people are gonna want to beat us. We’re hungry.”
