For Carolina Panthers wide receiver Terrace Marshall, it’s great to have a new coaching staff. After playing under Matt Rhule, the new staff led by head coach Frank Reich feel like a fresh start for Marshall.

In particular, he’s excited to be working with new Panthers wide receivers coach Shawn Jefferson and offensive coordinator Thomas Brown.

“I’d say one word to describe it is just clear – clear-minded, just ready to take on what this year’s going to bring,” Marshall said. “Just taking it one day at a time, really. Just grinding it out with the team, getting work right with the scheme and QBs. I’m ready to go.”

On top of the changes to the coaching staff, Terrace Marshall also gets to work with a new quarterback. That would be first overall pick, Bryce Young.

Young was taken by the Panthers after several years of struggling to find the team’s franchise signal caller. During that time, players like Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield played for Carolina, trying to revitalize their careers. None of those quarterbacks worked out, though, making it more difficult to be a young wide receiver in the process.

The Panthers had initially drafted Terrace Marshall in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of LSU. Through his first two seasons, Marshall has played in 27 games, grabbing 45 completions for 628 yards and a touchdown in the process.

Now, Marshall has the chance to prove himself with a new coaching staff, a new quarterback, and a fresh slate.

Adam Thielen sees a bright future for Terrace Marshall

One veteran presence the Panthers brought in this season was wide receiver, Adam Thielen. Already, the former Minnesota Vikings star and two-time Pro Bowler is seeing a ton out of Terrace Marshall and thinks that he has a bright future ahead of him.

“He’s a guy who comes to work every single day. He’s doing the little things, he’s doing the extra stuff. He really is motivated to be the best football player that he can possibly be. And, really, the best teammate that he can possibly be,” Thielen said.

“He has welcomed me in from day one, even before I got here, and has been a great teammate. So I appreciate that and thank him for that. And you can tell that he’s a mature football player and has a bright future.”
