New ESPN show host Pat McAfee promised his fans that his team’s move to the network wouldn’t change much, and so far, it hasn’t. The former Indianapolis Colts punter dropped an f-bomb that went uncensored on ESPN on Tuesday while sharing his reaction to Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers‘ season-ending injury.

Rodgers is a friend and frequent guest on the Pat McAfee Show, so the injury’s impact had ripple effects for them as well.

“I was holding out optimism until Saleh comes up to the thing, ‘Yeah, he popped his Achilles, we’re f*****.’ That is basically what Saleh said when he came up to the podium,” McAfee said. “It was at that point that all of us, I don’t want to sound too dramatic but I had a hard time sleeping last night, I had a tough time enjoying that game last night.”

During the show’s first episode on ESPN last Thursday, McAfee announced that they would have Rodgers on every Tuesday. Despite those plans, the QB did not appear for his first Tuesday, presumably due to the injury.

McAfee exited his four-year, $120 million deal with FanDuel to make the jump to “The Worldwide Leader in Sports.” He managed to retain full creative control over the show, though he admitted there will be less f-bombs going forward.

“We ain’t changing a damn thing,” McAfee said after the news of the move broke. “That was literally the starter for every conversation with everybody this up to something season.”

Pat McAfee Show to host Rodgers weekly

McAfee, 36, launched the show in 2019 following his departure from Barstool Sports. Known for his lively personality, McAfee gained acclaim for his weekly interviews with Rodgers throughout the 2021 and 2022 NFL regular seasons.

“When we first started, people said, ‘What is this hacky, BS,’ people said, ‘No one wants to hear from a quarterback all year long on Tuesday.’ Literally, nobody else had really done it,” McAfee said last week. “And then Season 1, it’s a smashing success. MVP. Season 2, a smashing success. Another MVP. Season 3, okay, okay, had a thing. Season 4, in a new home, Aaron Rodgers Tuesday is back, baby.”

“Thank you, buddy,” Rodgers said after the announcement of his weekly appearances. “Can’t wait to be back with you on Tuesday. I will not be censoring myself, so if you’re going to go over, watch it in different places, I will be the same-old, same-old.”
