Peyton Manning is once again taking home a trophy for his work in the NFL. This time, the media side is getting recognized, winning a Sports Emmy for being the most Outstanding Personality/Event Analyst. Monday Night Football’s ManningCast has been a huge hit across the country and is now getting some hardware to show for it.

A congratulations was in order, even from Eli Manning. But he put a twist only he could on it, deciding to troll his brother following the award. Anything else from the Manning family and it would not have felt like their true selves.

“I did not know you could win an Emmy for just telling fans when coaches should call timeout,” Eli Manning said via Twitter.

Eli is referencing the viral moment from the Week 1 matchup between the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers. Peyton was begging his former team to call timeout down one and driving down the field. As the clock ticked down, 62 timeouts were called by the ManningCast.

Eventually, one was called by Denver but it was too little too late. A long field goal attempt was missed to the left, losing the game for the Broncos. Neither Manning brother, nor guest Shannon Sharpe, were too thrilled with the situation.

In a situation that seemingly summed up Denver’s entire season in Week 1, the ManningCast got a viral moment both Peyton and Eli can have some fun with months later.

Eli, Peyton Manning to bring ManningCast back for 2023 season

ESPN has tried a multiple different ways to broadcast sporting events but none have been as popular as the ManningCast. The concept is a simple one — both Peyton and Eli are in their respective basements, breaking down the Monday Night Football game. Guests tied to the matchup will join as well, adding another element.

The duo is going to be back for the 2023 season, being the third year of the ManningCast. Awards have begun to flood in for the alternate broadcast but it’s only going to get better. Both Manning brothers have a knack of improving on a yearly basis. Even when nobody thinks it can be funnier.

Hopefully, a few more viral moments are produced. But for Peyton’s sake, we do not want a team is refusing to take a timeout late in a game. Otherwise, somebody is going to drive him crazy on live television.
