The Eagles showed off their new throwback uniforms, Saturday. And the look definitely is a nod to the 1980s and 90s.

Philadelphia shared a photo via social media, with the caption “Think we posted too many memes.” The photo features three Eagles, including quarterback Jalen Hurts, wear the kelly green jerseys and white pants. DeVonta Smith and Brandon Graham also are showing off their new game-day ‘fits.

And as the Eagles touted, yes “it’s back.”

The Fly Eagles Fly crowd received an early gift with the throwback jersey reveal. Initially, the team had planned to unveil the vintage kelly green jerseys on July 31. But photos of the new unis leaked earlier Saturday, so the Eagles introduced the look in the late afternoon.

If you’re an old-school Eagles fan, emphasis on old, you’ll remember back when Philadelphia wore kelly green jerseys and played their football at Veterans Stadium. Think late 1980s into the early 1990s. Randall Cunningham was the quarterback. Other notable Eagles included Reggie White and Seth Joyner.

Eagles used this throwback look from 1985-95

There are other cool details about these Eagles throwbacks. The jersey features a kelly green logo that the team used from 1987-1995. The new pants are a subtle shade of silver. And it’s the first time the Eagles will wear the silver pants since 1995.

The NFL allows teams to use four different uniforms for a season. That’s a home and away jersey, plus two alternates. The Eagles have opted for black jerseys for an alternate look, although it’s unclear whether Philadelphia will wear them this season. Any NFL team can wear an alternate jersey for up to three games a season.

The jerseys go on sale, Monday. While fans can now see the look, the Eagles have yet to announce the game when the players will wear the jerseys. The team used similar uniforms from 1985 to 1995. However, they combined the jersey with gray pants.

Philadelphia pulled the kelly greens out of the closet in 2010 to honor the 50th anniversary of the Eagles NFL championship team.
