Running backs flew off the market on Monday in the NFL, with multiple guys getting paid. However, the biggest name out there, Derrick Henry, still remains. Henry will be leaving the Tennessee Titans for the first time in his career and is thought to be a popular name on the free-agent market.

One of the teams connected with Henry is the Baltimore Ravens. In fact, there is even a reported mutual interest between the two. According to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports, Henry and the Ravens like the idea of a partnership but to this point, nothing has been worked out.

“I’m told there’s interest on both sides between the #Ravens and RB Derrick Henry, per source,” Anderson said via X. “An agreement still has to be reached though. We’ll see.”

Baltimore is already one of the most run-heavy teams in the NFL with Todd Monken calling plays and Lamar Jackson at quarterback. They finished first in the league with 2,661 rushing yards and fourth with 26 touchdowns. Jackson was the leading guy at 821 yards, while the now-Los Angeles Charger Gus Edwards was second at 810 yards.

Adding Henry would bring a completely new element to the Ravens. Jackson would have a workhorse running back standing behind him, ready to rock. Henry has led the NFL in carries over the past two seasons and four out of the last five. An injury in 2021 kept him sidelined but he was on pace for over 400 touches.

More on the 2024 NFL offseason, free agency

The NFL 2024 calendar year begins at 4 p.m. ET on March 13. At that time, contracts running through 2023 officially run out, making those players free agents. Prior to the beginning of free agency, teams will have a chance to designate one franchise or transition tag player, starting on Feb. 20 at 4 p.m. ET and ending on March 5. Beginning March 11 through March 13 teams can enter into a legal negotiation with players who are set to become unrestricted free agents.

In addition to NFL free agency, the new year also marks the beginning of all trades being made official by the league office. April 19 marks the deadline to sign restricted free agents to offer sheets. On April 24, the deadline for teams to match restricted free agent offers sheets hits. Following the restricted free agent deadline comes the 2024 NFL Draft, which runs from April 25-27.
