The Dallas Cowboys have made a few more roster moves ahead of their Sunday afternoon match-up against the Denver Broncos. According to NFL reporter, Aaron Wilson, the Cowboys will activate Francis Bernard from their practice squad. They will also sign nose tackle Justin Hamilton to the active roster from the practice squad and place tight end Blake Jarwin on injured reserve.

Benard is an undrafted linebacker free agent signing by the Cowboys back in 2020 from the University of Utah. In his first year, he played in 13 games for the Cowboys but never started. He finished the year with six tackles and two solo tackles in those 13 games. The call-up comes shortly after Dallas rookie linebacker Jabril Cox was lost for the season with an ACL in week 8.

who knows toggle Justin Hamilton officially earned a spot on the teams’ active roster. Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News had this to say about Hamilton officially being named a member of the 53 man roster.

“He earned it. Hamilton was a force last Sunday vs. Vikings, his night including a sequence in which he drew a holding call on consecutive snaps,” Gehlken wrote on Twitter.

Hamilton has played in three games for the Cowboys this year recording five tackles, four solo tackles, and registering two hits on opposing quarterbacks.

Cowboys down another key player

The Dallas Cowboys have placed tight end Blake Jarwin on the injury reserve list with a hip injury, according to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. Gehlken also reports that Jarwin will miss at least three weeks but is expected to return in 2021.

Jarwin is part of the Cowboys two-headed tight end attack, lining up across from Dalton Schultz. In 2021, he has 10 receptions for 90 yards and two touchdowns over seven games. The 27-year old former Oklahoma State star has played in 41 games over five seasons, all with the Cowboys.

Dallas features a deep tight end unit, carrying four on the active roster before Saturday’s move. With Blake Jarwin on injury reserve, the team now has Jeremy Sprinkle and Sean McKeon to fill holes behind Dalton Schultz.

The Cowboys are still waiting on the return of why receiver Michael Gallup for the offense, and most importantly the return of quarterback Dak Prescott. Prescott missed last week with a calf injury, his status for this week’s game against the Denver Broncos remains in question. However, the Dallas signal-caller is provided his own positive injury updates. It is likely that he will be a game-time decision this week as well.
