Jalen Ramsey finally will see action as a Dolphin and is expected back at practice as soon as Wednesday.

This is according to Cameron Wolfe, who covers the Dolphins for the NFL Network. Wolfe posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Ramsey “will be eased back into action. He won’t play Sunday. But back on field, with a new cut he posted this AM, less than 3 months after meniscus surgery.”

The Dolphins traded for Ramsey, the three-time All Pro, in the offseason. But he tore cartilage in his knee in late July, the second day of training camp. At the time, the Dolphins were practicing first-team offense against first-team defense. Ramsey was covering Tyreek Hill when the injury happened. Miami placed him on IR at the end of August. Once he starts practicing, the Dolphins have a 21-day window to place Ramsey on the active roster.

Jalen Ramsey was hinting at something Wednesday morning. He basically got his hair cut for a special day.

Two hours later, he added another Tweet: “I love y’all… I’m just restarting the journey tho. Shid got a bigger meaning but this the last time in my life I’ll ever cut my hair, my last year in my 20s! A lot of positivity flowing & going.”

If you’re a Dolphins and/or been following his story, you know he’s way ahead of schedule. Immediately after surgery, most thought the cornerback wouldn’t be able to play until December. Although he’ll practice Wednesday, he may not be ready for true game action until next month. The Dolphins play Philadelphia, New England then Kansas City over the next three Sundays. Their bye week is Nov. 12. So Jalen Ramsey could practice now and play after the bye.

After hus surgery, Ramsey shared a positive Tweet about his prognosis.

“I’ll be back on that field stronger than ever… in due time!,” he wrote.. “This (is) SO minor for God’s child! I trust fully & know He got me! I’m forever grateful to worship His name! I know my brothers gone hold it down until I’m back tho! Appreciate the love & support! Time to get right!”

The Dolphins are 5-1 in Jalen Ramsey’s absence. However, they’re doing it with offense, aka The Greatest Show on Surf. Conversely, the Miami defense isn’t putting up gaudy stats. They’re 26th in the NFL in points allowed and 23rd in yards allowed. In other words, the Dolphins are scoring enough to make up for their defensive shortcomings.

When Jalen Ramsey returns to the lineup, the Dolphins can move Kader Kohou back to the nickel. Miami signed former Bengal Eli Apple in training camp after Ramsey’s injury.
