The former first-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Taven Bryan, is betting on himself and taking a one-year deal next season. According to NFL reporter Mike Garafolo, Bryan has agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Cleveland Browns.

With the Browns, the former Gator has a chance to line up next to two number one overall picks on the defensive line in Jadeveon Clowney and Myles Garrett. However, Clowney is currently an unrestricted free agent and can land elsewhere. But still, lining up next to Garrett alone is a plus in its own right.

And Bryan’s deal is truly a proven contract as Garafolo reveals how much the deal is worth.

“The #Browns have agreed to terms on a one-year deal worth up to $5 million on DT Taven Bryan, according to his agents at @SPORTSTARSNYC. The former #Jaguars first-round pick is headed to Cleveland,” wrote Garafolo Via Twitter.

Bryan was the 28th pick in the 2018 draft by the Jaguars. And although he is a first-round pick in Jacksonville, he was not played like one. Over the four years, he has played in all but one game for the Jaguars. But he has only started a grand total of 17 games and did not start a single game for the 2021 season.

Browns release Landry

The Browns have cut star wide receiver Jarvis Landry amid the arrival of former Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper. Landry was outspoken about changing the culture in Cleveland to a winning one, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports his time with the franchise is over-with.

“One more free-agent WR now available: Browns are releasing WR Jarvis Landry, per source,” tweeted Schefter. “Amari Cooper arriving, Landry departing.”

Over the course of his career, it’s been highly-publicized that the former LSU star is best friends with former Browns star Odell Beckham Jr. Now, the duo goes from playing together last season, to entering free agency together.

Landry first entered the NFL when he was selected 63rd overall in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins out of LSU. He spent the first four years of his career in Miami, playing in 64 games and totaling 400 receptions, 4,038 receiving yards, and 22 touchdowns to go along with a rushing touchdown.

The Dolphins traded Landry to the Browns in March of 2018, and he has spent the past four years in Cleveland. With the Browns, Landry has totaled 288 receptions for 3,560 yards and 15 touchdowns in 59 games. This past season was Landry’s worst of his NFL career. He played in just 12 games, bringing in 52 receptions for 570 yards and two touchdowns, all of which were career lows.

Time will tell where Jarvis Landry ends up, but many teams will be interested in the star wide receiver.
