Just hours after La’el Collins was released from the Dallas Cowboys, he’s already planning visits to new NFL organizations. First on his list: the Cincinnati Bengals, according to a report from NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

The Cowboys were originally looking to trade the former 5-star recruit, but after trade talks for the now-former Cowboy fell through, releasing him was the best option for Dallas’ cap space amid the current free agent frenzy that began earlier this week.

The Cowboys save $13.95 million by cuttingCollins. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport noted last week that the Cowboys are looking to do anything they can to be in a comfortable situation regarding their salary cap heading into free agency this offseason.

The former LSU Tigers product was undrafted in 2015 despite being a former top-5 recruit coming out of high school, but has become a staple on the Dallas Cowboys offensive line which has been one of the most dominant position groups year after year.

With the Bengals boasting one of the most inconsistent offensive line groups in the league, Collins would be a welcome addition by Joe Burrow and company in Cincinnati.

Dallas Cowboys make decision on Dorance Armstrong Jr.

On Thursday afternoon, the Dallas Cowboys ensured one of their defensive ends is staying in town for a bit longer. Dorance Armstrong, Jr. parlayed a breakout 2021-2022campaign into a new contract with the team. He officially signed a two-year deal worth $13 million with the franchise, per Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News. With Randy Gregory departing for the Denver Broncos, locking up Armstrong became even more of a priority for the team. He’ll likely be a starter during the 2022-2023 season, alongside DeMarcus Lawrence

Dorance Armstrong just completed his fourth year in the NFL after a three-year career with the Kansas Jayhawks. In three seasons with the Jayhawks, Armstrong recorded 142 tackles, 34.5 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks and six forced fumbles. As a sophomore Armstrong earned first-team All-Big 12 honors and followed it up with second-team All-Big 12 honors as a junior, before declaring for the NFL Draft.

Throughout his entire NFL career, Armstrong has racked up 98 tackles, six tackles for loss, and 20 quarterback hits. He battled through a number of injuries during the 2021-2022 season.
