Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Kyle Busch get offer for celebrity boxing match

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Kyle Busch could be heading to a boxing ring very soon. According to TMZ Sports, the two NASCAR stars have been offered to battle it out in a match from Celebrity Boxing.

In a video message, Damon Feldman, the head of Celebrity Boxing, said he’s ready to get the match going as soon as they give him the go-ahead. “Come on, NASCAR,” Feldman said in the video, “let’s make this the biggest deal in the country!”

This comes on the heels of Stenhouse and Busch getting into a fight after the NASCAR All-Star race on Sunday. After the race, Stenhouse told Fox Sports he’s willing to take on Busch in a boxing match.

“I don’t have anything else for him,” Stenhouse said. “If we want to do a charity match, I would do that, raise some money for maybe the NASCAR Foundation or something. That would be fun. Really other than that, I don’t have a whole lot for him.”

The reason the two NASCAR drivers were fighting because of what happened at the beginning of the race. Busch hit Stenhouse, which led to him hitting the wall and wrecking his car. Busch says that Stenhouse hit him, and that’s why he retaliated. Once Busch was eliminated, he said he was going to confront Busch once the race was over.

“I feel like Kyle and I have always raced each other really hard back to the Nationwide Series when we were competing for wins week in and week out and never had any issues,” Stenhouse said after the fight. “I wrecked him one time at Daytona, and he’s been kind of bad mouthing me ever since then.

“I feel like we get along with each other okay outside the racetrack. I talk to him quite a bit. I’m not sure why he was so mad that — I shoved it three wide, but he hit the fence and kind of came off the wall and ran into me, and when I was talking to him he kept saying that I wrecked him. Yeah, just definitely built-up frustration with how he runs his mouth all the time about myself. But I know he’s frustrated because he doesn’t run near as good as he used to, and I understand that.

There’s no telling if the boxing match will happen. But it does get the greenlight, it will be one of the more interesting celebrity boxing matches in recent memory because of the intensity of the fight on Sunday.
