Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is sending love to the shorts he wore during his fight with Kyle Busch at the NASCAR All-Star Race. Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports spoke to Stenhouse about the shorts and said it was the star of the fight other than Stenhouse’s punch.

“That was a brand new pair of workout shorts,” Stenhouse said. “They got a workout in.” Stenhouse was then asked if the shorts were the only ones he had at the time. “At the time yes,” he said. “Everything else is in the motorhome. I wore those in, it was hot, I was like ‘You know, I’m just gonna wear these in. That’s why I ended up in them.”

Stenhouse and the shorts did get a workout in on Sunday night. But his pockets are going to feel lighter as he was fined $75,000 for punching Busch. He recently appeared on NASCAR Race Hub and admitted to being confused about the large fine.

“I would say a little confused at some of it,” Stenhouse said while adding he knew some type of punishment was coming. He added that he’s “a little confused at the whole situation,” but “that’s part of it, that’s NASCAR’s rule book. They can do what they please and we’re going to go race this weekend at Charlotte as if anything didn’t happen and put our foot forward in regards to that.”

Stenhouse punched Busch because Busch hit Stenhouse during the second lap of the race. Stenhouse hit the wall, and his car was wrecked. Busch intentionally hit him because he thought that Stenhouse hit him as he was going between Bsuch and another car.

Busch appeared on The Kenny Wallace Show this week and talked about the fight. “I had no idea his comments of hold my watch or you know, hey, if you want to see something afterwards, hang out until afterwards,” he said. “Nobody told me. So, I felt like I went into an ambush blind with him and his team and having an idea that they were all kind of set up in different areas. But tried to hold my own the best I could fighting off five different guys and came out of there with no black eyes. So, you know, I guess we’ll see how that progresses going forward and what we do, you know, heading on into the next few weeks.”
