Frustration continues to build for Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams as the team fell to the Detroit Lions 26-14 on Monday Night Football in yet another game where Adams had a limited role in the offense.

Adams ended the game with just one reception for 11 yards, showing clear frustration during the game and was at a loss for words afterward. And with tension only rising more week after week between Adams and the Raiders, former NFL quarterback and current analyst Robert Griffin III believes it’s time for Las Vegas to trade the star wide receiver.

“Raiders should do Davante Adams a solid and trade him. He deserves it. He came there to play for his favorite team, they got rid of the QB he came there to play with and he has 1 catch tonight. Don’t subject him to anymore of this dysfunction,” Griffin III tweeted on Monday night.

The NFL trade deadline ends on Tuesday, October 31 at 4:00 p.m. ET, giving the Raiders a very small window to move Adams following their disappointing Monday Night Football loss. But just last week the Raiders informed teams around the league that he would not be traded before the deadline regardless of how frustrated he’s become with the offense.

It will interesting to see if the events of Monday night potentially change the Raiders’ stance on trading Adams, but there’s no question that things between the offense and Adams are not working well.

After spending the first eight seasons of his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers, the Raiders signed Adams to a five-year, $141.25 million deal in 2022, highly motivated by Adams reuniting with former college teammate and quarterback Derek Carr.

Las Vegas finished the season with a 6-11 record, but Adams still managed to record 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns, marking his fourth 1,000-yard receiving season (Adams has two seasons with 997 yards) and his sixth with double-digit touchdown receptions.

This year is going a little bit differently for Adams after the Raiders released Carr in February. Adams has just 47 catches for 539 yards this season with three touchdowns, having not reached the end zone since Week 3 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers and combining for just 97 yards in his last three games.

Before joining the Raiders, Adams’ last one-catch game was in the 2016 season, but Monday night marked his second one-catch game with Las Vegas since joining the franchise.

It’s unknown if the organization will pivot its position on parting ways from Adams, but there’s no doubt that their star wideout is rightfully unhappy with how things are transpiring in Sin City.
