The Dallas Cowboys are facing some tough decisions following the 48-32 loss to the Packers in Sunday’s Wild Card matchup. According to former Commanders quarterback Robert Griffin III, the decisions aren’t actually so tough.

“The bottom line is, guys, I hate calling for coaches jobs,” Griffin said in a video posted on X. “It’s just not what I do. But it’s got to be the coach. You’ve had three consecutive 12-win seasons, nothing to show for it. It’s been 28 years since you’ve won a conference championship or Super Bowl.”

“A lot of people will say you should go get Bill Belichick,” he continued. “Because we all know that Mike McCarthy’s stuff was packed before this game, his office, empty. He gone. But I know who you need. you need Coach Prime. Deion Sanders. Coach Prime. He knows what it takes to win in Dallas. He knows what it takes to have a championship mindset. Holds guys accountable and he is a culture changer… Coach Prime is also going to bring you the quarterback of the future – Shedeur Sanders.”

Griffin went on to say that Jerry Jones loves the attention on the Cowboys and no coach would “make Jerry Jones more money” than Deion Sanders. He also believes Sanders could bring Dallas a Lombardi Trophy in “no time.”

McCarthy addresses future with Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys were humiliated and humbled to the highest degree on Sunday in their Wild Card matchup against the Green Bay Packers. The game wasn’t remotely close and whatever the Packers wanted to do on offense, they did.

With just over 10 minutes remaining in the game, Green Bay built their lead to 48-16, ensuring yet another humiliating playoff exit for the Cowboys. Following the 48-32 loss, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy addressed his future and the blowout loss to the Packers.

“I don’t think anyone saw this coming. We didn’t get it done in any of the phases,” McCarthy said. When he was asked about his future, the Cowboys head coach said he hadn’t thought about it. “I think the biggest thing is we’re disappointed….I haven’t thought past the outcome of this game.”

Although RGIII clearly has his mind made up about McCarthy, not all former players feel that his time is done in Dallas. FOX broadcaster Greg Olsen said a move would be preposterous after the loss on Sunday.

“I think the conversation about replacing Mike McCarthy is crazy talk, so let me just preface it by saying that,” Olsen said. “I always think the best exercise is if you let go your coach, would anyone else hire him? I think the answer with Mike McCarthy is clear. I think teams would jump over themselves to hire him to have this level of consistent success. So if the answer to that question is yes, that answers it.”

Despite three straight regular-season finishes at 12-5, the Dallas Cowboys have a 1-3 playoff record under McCarthy.
