New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau announced Monday he is in full remission from Hodgkin Lymphoma.

“After a few tumultuous months, I’ve been blessed with the news that I am in full remission from Hodgkin Lymphoma!” Moreau wrote on Twitter. “I’m so grateful to everyone who reached out to offer their love and support; our prayers were answered. From here I will continue to live my life as God intended AMDG.”

Moreau made the announcement three months after he was diagnosed with the cancer while in New Orleans to meet with the Saints on a free agency visit. Saints team physician Dr. John Amoss detected the cancer during a routine physical.

“Through somewhat of a miraculous process, this Free Agency period has been life changing for me,” Moreau shared on Twitter after his diagnois. “During a routine physical conducted by the Saint’s medical team down in New Orleans, I’ve come to learn that I have Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. And will be stepping away from football at this time to fight a new opponent: Cancer.

“I’m grateful for the support and thankful for people who have stood firm with me. There hasn’t been a single step I’ve taken without hundreds of people lighting the path before me. And I will continue to seek their guidance. That being said, I’ll go kick this thing’s ass and get back to doing what I love! AMDG!”

Foster Moreau continuing NFL career with New Orleans Saints

Moreau, 26, inked a three-year, $12 million deal with New Orleans in May. He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Las Vegas Raiders. Moreau hauled in a career-high 33 receptions for 420 yards and two touchdowns in 2022. Moreau has 91 catches for 1,107 yards and 12 scores over the duration of his career. In four years at LSU, Moreau recorded 52 receptions for 629 yards and six touchdowns.

Moreau detailed his decision to sign with the Saints during an appearance on Adam Schefter’s podcast in May.

“For me, a big part of it playing into my decision was, the Saints and [general manager] Mickey Loomis called my agent, the day after I got my diagnosis,” Moreau said. “Mickey calls my agent and says, ‘We still value Foster as a person and we value you even more as a player. We’d absolutely love to sign him to whatever deal we can, whatever you guys are comfortable with, whenever he’s ready to play, we’re excited to have him. Regardless. We’re going to keep him here, we’re going to keep him home.’

“For me, that spoke volumes.”
