Things got heated at the end of the Pittsburgh Steelers-Green Bay Packers matchup on Sunday afternoon. Pittsburgh corner Damontae Kazee intercepted the pass the seal the game in the final seconds to win the game, but then as he tried to go out of bounds once the game was over, he was tackled by Green Bay’s Zach Torn, shoving him into the personnel on the Steelers sideline. A Steelers’ staffer was leveled in the process. That’s when the scuffle ensued.

Check it out here.

Pittsburgh ended up winning the game 23-19, but it was certainly a wild minute or so at the end of the game. Kazee didn’t appreciate the late hit on his team’s sideline–which knocked over the staff member on the Steelers’ sideline. There’s never really a good time for a late hit but doing it on the opposing team’s sideline after the end of the game is not the wisest move.

With the win, the Steelers moved to 6-3 overall and the Packers dropped to 3-6 overall. Pittsburgh had a big day from their rushing attack, which combined to rack up 205 yards and two touchdowns on 36 carries.

The Steelers running game carried their offense on Sunday

Steelers running back Jaylen Warren led the backfield with 101 rushing yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Najee Harris also tacked on 82 rushing yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Steelers receiver George Pickens had a pretty quiet afternoon, hauling in three catches for 45 receiving yards on four total targets.

The Packers got a big performance from former Michigan State receiver, Jayden Reed. He’s been a high-impact player for their franchise as a rookie. Reed hauled in five catches for 84 receiving yards and one touchdown. Second year receiver Romeo Doubs also hauled in a touchdown catch for Green Bay.

Former Virginia star Dontayvion Wicks has made an instant impact on the Packers as a rookie. He hauled in three catches for 51 receiving yards on Sunday. This year, he’s hauled in 17 total catches for 240 receiving yards and a touchdown.

In 2021, Wicks had a record-setting year with the Virginia Cavaliers, hauling in 1,203 receiving yards, setting the single-season receiving yardage record for the Cavaliers. He surpassed the record set by Herman Moore (1,190 receiving yards) in 1990. Wicks also tied Germane Crowell for the most 100-plus receiving yard games in a single season in UVA history (six total). On Sept. 30, 2021, he also hauled in one of the catches of the year against the Miami Hurricanes.

Up next for the Pittsburgh Steelers, they’ll face off against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, November 19th. Kick time for that one is slated for 1:00 PM EST.
