The storms that dealt a hard blow to parts of the South this week did the Masters a favor. Still, there was enough rain to push back tee times at Augusta, Thursday morning.

Tournament organizers announced early Thursday that the first round will begin at 10:30 a.m. from the first hole. You can check out updated tee times are here.

The Honorary Starters Ceremony begin at 10:10 a.m.

Masters organizers had planned for a longer delay, but rain wasn’t as severe as first predicted.

Here are times of some of the top Masters groupings. Scottie Scheffler, the 2022 champion and heavy favorite to win this year, will play the first two rounds with Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele. They’ll start their rounds at 1:12 p.m.

Here are some of the other top groupings and times:

Jon Rahm, Matt Fitzpatrick and Nick Dunlap, 1 p.m.
Wyndham Clark, Viktor Hovland and Cameron Smith, 1:24 p.m.
Tiger Woods, Jason Day and Max Homa, 3:54
Dustin Johnson, Collin Morikawa and Tommy Fleetwood, 4:30 p.m.

Obviously, some golfers aren’t going to finish their first rounds before sunset Thursday. They will finish them Friday before they start the second round. But golfers are used to adapting their schedules around rowdy weather.

Storms swept through Augusta last year, starting during the second round. Jon Rahm, who won the tournament, played 30 holes on Sunday’s final round.

Golf fans already are concerned how a Masters delay will impact Tiger Woods’ game. The aging superstar has back, knee and ankle issues. He has five green jackets, the last coming in 2019. A sixth would tie the record for most wins. Jack Nicklaus is the only golfer ever to win six.
