George Kittle impressed with how Travis Kelce has handled Taylor Swift-related media attention
Travis Kelce and George Kittle are the best tight ends in the NFL. They’re also two of the league’s biggest personalities, with Kelce possibly the most popular player in the league thanks to his relationship with Taylor Swift.
And from one tight end to another, Kittle said he’s not sure how Kelce can handle all the attention that’s found him now that the Chiefs standout is dating the pop superstar. After all, she’s one of the most famous people in the world who rarely gets a private moment if she’s anywhere other than her home.
Kittle talked about Kelce during a Super Bowl media session earlier this week.
“While it might seem to all of us it could be a distraction, it might not be to him. I think Travis is a mature man, he knows how to handle his business, and I think he puts football over everything,” Kittle told reporters. “You can just tell. He is playing in the Super Bowl. He obviously knows how to handle anything going on off the field.”
Kittle did admit that after the Super Bowl, he’d like to catch up with Kelce and discuss this whole pop star turn to his football career.
“I can’t grasp my head around it,” Kittle said of Kelce’s relationship with Swift. “At some point in the offseason I’ll probably have to grab a beer and talk to him about it.”
Kittle married Claire, his college sweetheart from when he played for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Maybe Claire Kittle and Taylor Swift will meet on Sunday. It’s not official that Swift will be at the Super Bowl. After all, she’s in Japan as part of her Eras Tour. But her final concert is in Tokyo on Saturday night. Because of a 17-hour time difference and access to a private jet, Swift has time to make it to Vegas.
Claire attended the Super Bowl in February 2020, when the Chiefs beat the 49ers.
“It’s overwhelming,” Claire Kittle told People about the Super Bowl experience. “But it’s amazing and everybody’s so excited to go there, support their guys, have a little bit of fun and just seek in the moments and create new memories,” she says. “With this being our second Super Bowl, it’s unbelievable. You don’t even know if you’re going to get one. And here we are getting our second one with an opportunity to win.”
She added: “So everybody’s just happy, everybody’s just excited and just really blessed and emotional.”
