The Cincinnati Bengals have one of the NFL‘s best offenses and expect to compete every year. Part of that is having a talented quarterback in Joe Burrow. However, another huge reason why Cincinnati has been so good is their receiving core, led by Tee Higgins, Ja’Marr Chase, and Tyler Boyd.

Not only is this trio incredibly talented, but according to Tee Higgins the group also has incredible chemistry, which helps them to attack secondaries.

“We’re like brothers, man,” Higgins said. “Blood couldn’t make us any closer you know what I’m saying? Man, we love each other like, we got the same momma and just, it’s great to have two guys like that, that got my back and I got theirs at the end of the day.”

In many ways, the relationship that Tee Higgins has with his fellow wide receivers is refreshing. After all, being a professional football player is incredibly competitive. Wide receivers are going to compete for playing time, receptions, and even larger contracts. So, there could easily be tension among these players.

At the same time, loving one another is definitely a better way to find success than being frustrated or angry with one another.

In 2022, between Higgins, Chase, and Boyd, the trio of wide receivers had 219 receptions. The three also combined for 2,837 yards through the air and 21 total passing touchdowns. That’s more than half of the Bengals’ production in the passing game on the season.

Among the three, Boyd is the veteran in the room. His first season was back in 2016 while Higgins and Chase entered the league in 2020 and 2021 respectively.

Tee Higgins held himself out of team drills

The Cincinnati Bengals have already suffered several injury scares during training camp. The most notable was Joe Burrow pulling up while scrambling with a calf injury. Then, on Tuesday Tee Higgins held himself out of team drills. That came a day after Higgins suffered his own injury scare.

On Monday, Higgins did something to his leg when he landed on it. After practice, he confirmed that he was injured after landing on it awkwardly. However, he was vague about what the injury was or how severe it seemed to be.

Ultimately, that’s what led to Higgins holding himself out of team drills as what was described as a precautionary measure. Regardless, the Bengals know that they need to be healthy for the regular season in a competitive AFC North.
