Tennessee Titans offensive lineman Taylor Lewan was active for Sunday night’s win over the Los Angeles Rams, but didn’t play. Coach Mike Vrabel had a very vague update when asked about it after the game.

Lewan appeared on the injury report last Thursday with a knee injury, but wasn’t on the inactives list. That meant he was available, but Vrabel didn’t say much about why Lewan didn’t play.

On Thursday, Lewan provided some clarity on why he didn’t play in the prime time showdown.

“Sunday on the turf against the Colts, I was pretty sore and then I went out Thursday and I just made it worse,” Lewan said, via Jim Wyatt. “It was one of those situations where could I go, could I not — I went out to warm up, warmed up and I was just in a situation where I couldn’t really pass that. Didn’t feel a lot of power in my leg and unfortunately couldn’t go.”

Lewan has dealt with a couple injuries this year. He’s coming off a torn ACL, which is why he missed 11 games last season. He also missed Week 7 with a concussion, which he suffered against Buffalo the week before and had to be carted off the field.

Now, it appears he’s healthy, which will make it interesting to see if he plays this week against the New Orleans Saints.

Titans sign Adrian Peterson after Derrick Henry injury

The Titans have dealt with a few injuries this year, including Lewan’s. But their biggest hit came when Derrick Henry went down with a foot injury that could keep him out the rest of the season.

To fill Henry’s spot, Tennessee signed veteran running back Adrian Peterson.

After Henry’s injury was revealed, reports came out that the Titans were bringing Peterson in for a workout. Peterson started out on the practice squad, but was promoted to the active roster in time for last week’s game against the Rams.

Henry was originally injured in the first quarter of the Titans’ game against the Colts. He later returned the game and rushed for 68 yards on 28 carries. On the season, Henry has rushed for 937 yards and ten touchdowns. The closest running back to Henry in rushing yards is Nick Chubb, who has 584.

In his first game in a Titans uniform, Peterson had 10 carries for 21 yards and scored a touchdown. Tennessee is getting set to take on New Orleans this week.
