Big news in the ARCA Menards Series as Justin Bonsignore, three-time NASCAR Whelen Modified champion is making his debut. Bonsignore will drive the No. 30 car for Rette Jones Racing in the ARCA 200 at Daytona.

Justin Bonsignore was at Daytona a couple of weeks ago for the pre-race practice session. This allowed him to test out an ARCA car for the first time and get his superspeedway bearings.

At the time, Bonsignore said he was just testing things out. If he liked it, he would look into getting an ARCA ride. Well, he’s got one and it is with a championship-winning organization.

Bonsignore will be in the No. 30 car, the same car Frankie Muniz drove last year to a 4th-place finish in the ARCA standings. A championship-caliber driver with a championship-caliber team – this feels like a great pairing.

In the world of Modifieds, Bonsignore is one of the best to ever do it. He has amassed 40 career wins on his way to three championships.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to drive for Rette Jones Racing,” Bonsignore said. “They have a really strong program, and that should help with my learning curve in to the ARCA Menards Series.

“I can learn from Mark [Rette] and all of his experiences to understand the small details that go into superspeedway style racing. I feel really confident going into the race that I have a team that is capable of contending for the win – it will just be about getting myself up to speed and comfortable to go out there and get the job done.”

Justin Bonsignore joins stacked ARCA lineup for Daytona

This is going to be one of the more interesting ARCA races at Daytona that we have seen in a long time. There are champions and winners throughout the field either in stock cars, touring cars, or open-wheel.

Justin Bonsignore is not the only three-time champion in the field. Shane van Gisbergen will have to race the ARCA 200 in order to race the Xfinity Series event that same day. SVG got his first taste of superspeedway racing at the ARCA testing session the same as Bonsignore.

Let’s not forget that Marco Andretti is also going to be in this race. Andretti has won in IndyCar before and is ready to take on a stock car career. He will have races in ARCA as well as the Truck Series this season.

Then you add in the ARCA regulars who have been in the series for a few years, and drivers that are starting their NASCAR careers as well. Young talent, journeyman drivers who are looking for a shot at glory, and certified champions – it is all coming to the ARCA Menards Series at Daytona.
