WWE president Nick Khan almost got Tim Tebow to the organization following the former quarterback’s brief run with the New England Patriots.

Tebow was on the Patriots roster in 2013 but was cut after the preseason. He had a gap year and ended up with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015 during that preseason, but could’ve gone the professional wrestling route, according to Khan.

Joining the Pat McAfee Show Tuesday, Khan revealed the higher-ups went all in to try and land the former Heisman Trophy winner.

“So when I was an agent, my prior profession, and I was trying to get into the WWE business, Paul (Triple H) had called me, unsolicited call,” Khan said. “And this is when Tim Tebow had just gotten cut by the Patriots. Paul called me said, ‘Hey, I just wanna introduce myself. My name is Paul.’ And as I said, Triple H. I know who you are …

“I said, what’s going on? He said, ‘Hey, what do you think of Tim Tebow against the Big Show?/ And whatever that WrestleMania was after the Patriots run, and I said, ‘What do you think?’ He offered some financial terms.

Khan then got in touch with Tebow about a top secret meeting with the WWE for a potential career change.

“I called Tim at the time, what do you think Tim,” Khan said. “And I had then, a top secret private meeting. Tim Tebow, myself, Vince McMahon and Triple H in Anaheim, California about that. Ultimately, it didn’t happen. Triple H and I remained in touch. And over time, he was the one who said to me, ‘Hey, I think Vince may want to meet with you …’ So I plan on meeting with Vince (in Dallas). I went the night before because of course you don’t want to go day of and be late and this and that.

“So I went, I sat in a hotel room. Paul called me and said Vince is ready to meet. I went to Vince’s office, met with him and pitched what I had to say, we shook hands on a deal and here we are.”

Tebow eventually switched to minor league baseball in the New York Mets organization following his football career and resurfaced in 2021. That year, he switched to tight end and tried to make the Jacksonville Jaguars roster when Urban Meyer was the head coach.

However, Tebow remained on ESPN as a college football analyst since his NFL career ended. Looks like no WWE is in sight for the former Heisman winner.
