Georgia running back Kenny McIntosh was one of eight running backs invited to this year’s Reese’s Senior Bowl. After three seasons as a reserve running back for the Bulldogs, he established himself as Georgia’s number-one back this season leading them in carries, rushing yards, and touchdowns while also making an impact out of the backfield.

Every participant in the Senior Bowl will be looking to increase their draft stock, and ESPN NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay believes that McIntosh has a unique opportunity to do so this week in Mobile, Alabama.

“He has a really compact low-to-the-ground running style, and he’s shifty at 6-1 and 210 pounds, showcasing an ability to string together cuts,” McShay said. “McIntosh ran 150 times this season for 829 yards and 10 touchdowns, but he also has reliable hands and a smooth upfield transition after the catch in the receiving game (43 catches for 504 yards). It’s a deep running back class, but a good showing here could bump McIntosh up team boards.”

McIntosh definitely will have to compete with a strong running back class, headlined by names like Bijan Robinson, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Zach Charbonnet. But he does bring a unique combination of freshness with only 280 career careers in his career and versatility as he’s showcased the ability to be a threat in the rushing, passing, and return game throughout his career.

He also has pedigree on his side, as the Bulldogs have consistently produced running back talent over the years with names like James Cook, D’Andre Swift, Nick Chubb, and Sony Michel.

McIntosh has the tools to be successful at the next level, and it will be interesting to see how much his stock rises ahead of the draft and what team he’ll call home in April.

Mel Kiper reveals why he selected Jalen Carter over Bryce Young, Will Anderson in NFL mock draft

NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper revealed his Mock Draft 1.0 this week, crowning Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter as his first overall pick. This year’s draft class brings a ton of talent to the table, especially from Alabama, as Kiper explained to Todd McShay and Field Yates why Carter stands out against the rest.

“Yeah Todd talks about the quarterbacks like they’re super elite, I didn’t find that, and I didn’t find a consensus. So this notion that Bryce Young at 5’11, 190 (pounds) is going to be a guy you give up a lot of picks to go up and get, I didn’t see that, I didn’t hear that,” Kiper explained. “So I said okay if you’re stuck at number one you got to make a pick, you need a defensive lineman, that was a group that obviously needs an influx, not just one but probably three defensive lineman, and I went with Jalen Carter.”

Young’s size has definitely been a topic of conversation and will continue to be throughout the draft analysis process. This is an area that Carter on the other hand excels with, towering at 6-foot-3, 300 pounds and wreaking havoc in backfields when healthy.

“Number one player on my big board and a guy who’s a disruptor on the interior when he got healthy after that set of September injuries he was a guy was playing to the level of the 2021 season when everybody said he was the best player on that talent laden Georgia Bulldog defense. So I think they want to come out of this draft with Jalen Carter, Will Anderson Jr. would certainly make sense as well,” Kiper said.
