Tom Brady is hearing the buzz that says he’ll return to football. On Thursday, he threw cold water all over the idea.

“I’m certain I’m not playing again,” Brady said in an interview with Sports IIlustrated. “I tried to make that clear. I hate to continue to profess that because I’ve already told people that lots of times.

“Looking forward to my broadcasting job with Fox next year,” he said. “Looking forward to the opportunity I have with the Raiders, we’re in the process with that. …In my personal life spending as much time with my kids as I can, seeing them grow up and supporting the different things they have going on. That’s a very important job and I take them all very seriously.”

Tom Brady announced his retirement, Feb. 1. He did so via video message, which he posted to his social media accounts. But he’d already done this once before, only to change his mind. So the second retirement announcement didn’t seem to stick.

The Brady return buzz started soon after, when the superstar quarterback said he was deferring his TV job with Fox until 2024.

Then the rumors started again in late May when news broke that he planned on buying a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders. Might he also plan on becoming the quarterback? Jimmy Garoppolo, who the Raiders signed in free agency, underwent foot surgery in March, so he might not be able to play. That ignited the Brady talk. TMZ Sports and ProFootballTalk also got clarification to see if someone can own and play for the same team. The answer was yes. Brady already has to receive 75 percent of the owners to approve his stake with the Raiders. It would take the same percentage approval to allow him to play.

Meanwhile, Tom Brady had to interrupt his fabulous retirement to quiet the work talk. Last weekend, he attended an extravagant wedding in Sardinia for billionaire Joe Nahmad and model Madison Headrick. Page Six said other guests included Leonardo DiCaprio along with Venus and Serena Williams.

ProFootballTalk, quoting a source familiar with Tom Brady, also reported that the former superstar quarterback didn’t want to play again. But he did like the attention of all the speculation. Guess the buzz got too loud.
