The NASCAR off-week means we are halfway through the season. 16 of 36 races are done plus the All-Star Race. There have been so many great looks on the track this season. Now that we are in the middle of the year, let’s take a look back at the best schemes from the season so far.

There have been throwbacks. We have seen drivers with new teams and new sponsors in cars we never thought we would see. The teams have brought some great designs to the tracks this season and they deserve a little bit of an extra spotlight.

It will be interesting to see if these schemes hold up on this list for the rest of the season. Maybe teams have some surprises up their sleeves for the second half of the year.

Best paint schemes of the NASCAR season

To start, here are the five best paint schemes (according to me) in the 2023 season so far.

Tyler Reddick Carolina Blue Jordan Brand Toyota
Simple is often best when it comes to NASCAR paint schemes. This Tyler Reddick scheme looked almost too simple in the preview pics and renderings. However, on the track a the Coca-Cola 600, it was beautiful. More Jordan Brand schemes, please!

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Kroger/Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Chevy
This was a great look when it was the black top at Las Vegas. But with the white numbering and top, it is a damn near perfect scheme. As soon as I saw this slight alteration, I was in love with it. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. rocked this look at the All-Star Race, it matched the white and red of North Wilkesboro very well.

Here’s a good 360-degree view as Stenhouse gets spun by Erik Jones.

William Byron Axalta Jeff Gordon Throwback/NASCAR 75th Anniversary Chevy
This scheme makes the list, partly for being a unique throwback as well as the fact that it ended up in Victory Lane. William Byron repped his boss Jeff Gordon well at Darlington and put this color changing in the front and didn’t look back.

Yes folks, there was apparently real paint on this car (over the wrapping, of course).

Kevin Harvick No. 29 Busch Light Ford
History is often the driving force behind many of the greatest moments in NASCAR history. Kevin Harvick is walking history. Seeing The Closer in the No. 29 one last time at the All-Star Race was awesome. This is an all-time Busch Light throwback look and the number makes it better.

Bubba Wallace Columbia Sportswear Toyota
When I started making this list, I didn’t realize how many of my favorite designs were from the All-Star Race. Three of the top-five is kinda wild. But it was a night full of great NASCAR schemes, including Bubba Wallace. This Columbia Sportswear throwback-inspired scheme looked electric under the lights.
