Before the Eagles punched their ticket to the Super Bowl, punches were thrown near the end of Sunday’s NFC Championship against the 49ers. A huge fight broke out with just under four minutes left in the game, escalating after San Francisco offensive tackle Trent Williams grabbed Philadelphia safety K’Von Wallace and slammed him on the ground.

That caused things to grow out of control as players from both teams began throwing punches. Players even cleared from both benches to join in on the brawl, which you can watch below.

Williams was ejected for his role in the fight, ending his season a few minutes early. There will likely be some fines on both sides following the incident, and it will be interesting to see whether any Eagles players face punishment ahead of the Super Bowl.

Eagles dominate 49ers in NFC title game

The fight seemed to be a case of the 49ers’ frustrations boiling over, as the Eagles were in control for the majority of the game. After Christian McCaffrey tied the game at seven with eight minutes to go in the second quarter, San Francisco never scored again as Philadelphia strung together 24 unanswered.

The 49ers struggled with injuries all day, as quarterbacks Brock Purdy and Josh Johnson both went down. With Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance already injured heading into the game, that put immense pressure on an already hobbled San Francisco offense.

The Eagles scored all four of their touchdowns on the ground, finishing with 148 yards rushing as a team. Quarterback Jalen Hurts was 15-of-25 passing for 121 yards to go along with 39 yards rushing and one touchdown in the victory.

The win advanced Philadelphia to the Super Bowl, where it will face the winner of the AFC Championship between the Bengals and Chiefs. It marks the Eagles’ first Super Bowl appearance since the 2017 season, when they defeated the Patriots.

Kickoff for Super Bowl LVII is set for 6:30 p.m. ET on Feb. 12 in Glendale, Arizona.
