Dallas Cowboys star cornerback Trevon Diggs has been trying to bring his brother Stefon to the Lone Star State since his move after the draft in 2020, and today, he finally got his wish. Kind of. The Buffalo Bills executed a trade that sent wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans for the 2024 season.

The Cowboys defender reacted to the trade on social media on Wednesday. He tweeted a man running emoji with a rush of wind behind him. He also posted a shocked face with many exclamation marks and “3 #1’s is crazy.”

Though Trevon and Stefon will now be in the same state, they’ll still be playing four hours apart. Except during one regular season game this year, when the Texans travel to Arlington to face Dallas. The date of that game has yet to be determined.

As much as Trevon Diggs wanted his brother on his team, he’s been very vocal about hoping Stefon at least gets out of Buffalo. At the beginning of the season, Trevon posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Tuh! They turn on you so quick. Gotta get bro somewhere safe,” after a reporter was heard on a hot mic criticizing his interactions with the media. He also spoke out after the Buffalo Bills were one penalty away from beating the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football. The 24-22 loss brought the Bills to 5-5, prompting the Cowboys star to tweet: “Man 14 gotta get up outta there.”

Stefon Diggs has had several of his own viral moments that raised eyebrows about how long his time in Buffalo would last. In a playoff loss to the Bengals in 2022, cameras caught the receiver yelling at quarterback Josh Allen. Diggs then vacated the locker room before the press conferences started. In April, he posted, “Comeeeeee anddddd rescue me…,” which led to renewed questions about his status.

Diggs traded to Houston Texans

Buffalo is receiving a 2025 second-round pick (via the Minnesota Vikings). The Texans are also acquiring a 2025 fifth-round and sixth-round pick. Diggs, who signed a four-year, $104 million extension with the Bills in 2022, is under contract through the 2027 season.

Diggs, 30, is on the move after four highly productive seasons with the Bills. In 66 games, he hauled in 445 receptions for 5,372 yards and 37 touchdowns. Diggs earned a Pro Bowl selection in each season in Buffalo, including his first and only AP first-team All-Pro honor in 2020 when he tallied a career-high 127 receptions for 1,535 yards.

Buffalo initially acquired Diggs from the Vikings ahead of the 2020 season. In five seasons in Minnesota, he came down with 365 catches for 4,623 yards and 30 scores. A big-time weapon in Buffalo for Josh Allen, Diggs will soon find himself a favorite of C.J. Stroud, coming off an AP Offensive Rookie of the Year Award-winning season.
