T.Y. Hilton is back in the NFL. After not signing with a team last offseason, the four-time Pro Bowl receiver will have his next opportunity now as a member of the Dallas Cowboys.

The franchise announced Hilton’s signing earlier this afternoon after Ian Rapoport reported the news and, now, Hilton has shared his first message to those who follow America’s team.

“Hi Cowboy Nation! This is T.Y. Hilton. I’m excited to be here. Can’t wait to get to work. Let’s go do this,” said Hilton.

Hilton has caught 631 passes over his pro career spent entirely with the Indianapolis Colts. In those ten seasons, those catches led to 9,691 career yards and 53 touchdowns. He made four straight Pro Bowls from 2014 to 2017 but, due to injuries, he produced less and played fewer games over the last four season. He caught 23 passes for 331 yards and three touchdowns in his final 10 games as a Colt in 2021.

Dallas was in need of some more experienced depth at wideout as they head into the home stretch of the season. While many expected it to come in the form of another big-name receiver, and it still may, Hilton provides Dak Prescott and the Cowboy offense a quality, veteran weapon to utilize now as they push toward the postseason.

Mike McCarthy praises Dallas Cowboys signing TY Hilton

A free-agent wide receiver is heading to Dallas but it’s not who you would expect. Long-time Colts star T.Y. Hilton will finish out the 2022 season with the Cowboys, with the organization officially announcing the signing on Monday.

It’s a much-needed addition on offense for head coach Mike McCarthy and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.

“Great addition,” McCarthy said. “We’ll get him out there Wednesday and get him acclimated. He had a workout. Everything passed with flying colors. The timing is right. He’s ready to go.”

Hilton gives quarterback Dak Prescott a veteran target through the final four games of the regular season and what Dallas hopes to be a long run in the playoffs.
