It wouldn’t be an NFL game without some penalty-related controversy. And in Monday’s early game matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders and Cleveland Browns, we have already gotten our first questionable call of the game.

In the opening minute of the second quarter Browns’ safety M.J Stewart Jr, drew a highly suspect pass interference call while guarding Raiders receiver Zay Jones. On the play, you see both Jones and Stewart hand checking and fighting for position, but the official running down the middle of the field with them threw the flag in favor of the Raiders.

Fortunately for the Browns, their defense tightened up and forced a fumble later in the drive. Although the fumble was recovered by Las Vegas, it knocked them back, forcing them to attempt to convert a third-and-20 plus.

As they head into the half, the Raiders currently lead the Browns 10-0.

Hurts back for Eagles in NFL Tuesday doubleheader

Jalen Hurts will be back under center for the Philadelphia Eagles vs. the Washington Football team on Tuesday night, a game that was originally scheduled for Sunday but moved due to COVID-19 issues.

As Pro Football Talk notes, Hurts did not play in Week 13 because of an ankle injury and was limited in practice early last week, but he began working in full as the week went on and the two extra days to prepare for the game leave him on track to play. The Eagles did not give Hurts any injury designation for the game vs. Washington.

In his last outing vs. the New York Giants, Jalen Hurts struggled before suffering the fourth quarter injury.

#Eagles HC Nick Sirianni said QB Jalen Hurts is dealing with a sore ankle and the team will provide more information later in the week,” PFF’s Ari Meirov said in a tweet. “Eagles have the Jets this week and then their bye.”

The former Alabama and Oklahoma star quarterback completed just 14-of-31 passes for 129 yards and three interceptions – with no touchdowns. For the season as a whole, Hurts has thrown for 2,435 yards and 13 touchdowns with eight interceptions.
