He was never that popular in Philadelphia to begin with, being the starting quarterback for the New York Giants for so long, but Eli Manning felt the full brunt of the Eagles faithful on Saturday night. And he’s not even on the field, anymore.

Sitting in the luxury boxes during the game, Manning was shown on the big screen at Lincoln Financial Field as a number of former Eagles who were in attendance got airtime. When the former NFC East rival popped up, the cheers flipped to jeers.

There were, of course, some double birds being flipped toward the two-time Super Bowl winner. Manning, for his part, was a good sport about it. He gave the crowd some joking encouragement to turn up the volume.

A franchise legend getting booed was the least of the worries for the Giants on Saturday, as the Eagles bulldozed them en route to a 38-7 win to earn a trip to the NFC Championship Game.

LOOK: Peyton Manning’s son trolls uncle Eli Manning while attending Giants, Eagles playoff game

Peyton Manning and Eli Manning have each won multiple Super Bowls, had decade-plus-long NFL careers and generally held a place in the American football mind for more than two decades, now. They also have never stopped being brothers, always ready to get one over on the other.

On Saturday night, it was Peyton and his son, Marshall, who got to have a little fun at the expense of Uncle Eli. On the sidelines at Lincoln Financial Field before the Philadelphia Eagles hosted the New York Giants — Eli’s former team — in a divisional playoff game, the younger Manning was sporting a jersey.

A blue, No. 10 New York Giants jersey with “Manning” splayed across the shoulders? No. Out from under his jacket peeked a No. 1, dark green Jalen Hurts Eagles jersey.

Peyton, for his part, was in some exceedingly neutral gray. But when it comes to fans, it looks like Eli Manning might want to check twice before counting his nephew among them.
